The Main Co-working space is equipped with 30 adjustable desks and 14 external Apple Pro Display XDR monitors, 2 of which are equipped with the teleprompter station. All monitors include Logitech webcams for video calls.
All desks and workspaces are first-come, first-served. If a space is reserved for any reason, it will be clearly marked with a sign. Before you leave, please make sure that any cords you borrowed are properly wrapped and returned to the credenza.
Due to limited storage, we are not able to store any personal belongings for extended periods of time at the NoHo Space. Please ping in the #nohoffice channel or inform the space host if you require any special temporary accommodations.
- Plugging in — Connect your device directly to any available monitor using a USB-C Thunderbolt cable. If the monitor does not turn on immediately, you may need to open your laptop and approve the device connection.
- Adjustments — The monitors are mounted on height- and tilt-adjustable arms and can be carefully adjusted to fit your preferences. Please use extreme care when moving or adjusting the monitors, as the screens are fragile and can crack easily.
- Cables and accessories — The right two cabinets of the Crosby entrance credenza contain a variety of cables, multi-cables, spare mice, and keyboards. If you need something that you don’t see, please ask.
- Adjustments — To adjust the height of your desk, use the control panel located to the right of the chair. Press the up arrow to raise the desk and the down arrow to lower it.
- Troubleshooting — If a desk feels uneven or will not move up and down, first check that it is plugged in and that the cable connection underneath the desk is secure. If the issue continues, or the desk still feels uneven, press and hold both the up and down arrows at the same time. The desk will begin moving downward and will beep once it has been fully reset.
- Desk Wheels — All desks are equipped with four wheels to make moving furniture around the space easier. To help with frequent furniture adjustments, only the two wheels on the chair side of the desk need to be locked. However, some desks may have all four wheels locked, so you may need to unlock all wheels before moving the desk. Please always lock the desks after moving them.
- Wheel lock positions:
- Lever in the upright position = unlocked
- Lever in the down position = locked
- Wheel lock positions:
- Desk Drawers — Desks equipped with monitors have a small drawer attached underneath the center of the desk. Inside, you will find a keyboard, mouse, notebook, pen, and sometimes the Thunderbolt connection cable (if it is not already plugged into the back of the monitor). If you need additional tech accessories or chargers, they are located in the right-most two cabinets of the wooden credenza between the bathrooms.

There are two Zoom rooms located near the Broadway side of the space. Each includes an external monitor and a Logitech camera. These are ideal for taking calls or working privately. If you need to reserve a zoom room for a call, please make let us know in #nohoffice.
- Privacy Screen — Each Zoom Room has a remote near the entrance that controls the “frosted glass” privacy feature. Turn this on when you need additional privacy, and please turn it off when you leave to signal that the room is available.
- Cables — Each Zoom Room has a Thunderbolt cable connected to the monitor for connecting your device. There is also a retractable charging cable and a phone/Apple Watch charging stand available. If you need additional cables or accessories, they can be found in the right two cabinets of the credenza near the Crosby St entrance.
- Music — Each Zoom Room has its own independent Sonos speaker group, allowing you to pause or adjust music in that room without affecting the rest of the office. Before making any changes, please review the “SOUND” section of the Field Guide to confirm the Zoom Room is set up on its own individual “line/grouping.”
- Lights — Each Zoom Room has three lighting sources: overhead lighting, one paper floor lamp, and two frontal studio lights attached to the monitor.
- Front Studio Lighting: To turn on the two monitor-mounted lights, press the power button located in the center on the inside of each light. The lights are attached magnetically to the stands on either side of the monitor and can be easily removed or adjusted. On the back of each light, there are two sets of + / – controls: one adjusts the color temperature and the other adjusts the brightness. Adjust the settings as needed to fit your preferences.
The NoHo Space includes three conference rooms available for meetings, presentations, and events. Each room is equipped with presentation capabilities and can be reserved depending on your needs.
To reserve the NoHo Space for a meetup or event, create a post on the NoHo Space P2 using the “A8C Team Meetup Request” pattern.
For smaller, more casual conference room requests outside of a larger meeting or event, please send a request in #nohoffice with the room, date, time, and any relevant details.
- Carmen McRae Conference Room (also known as the “Front” Conference Room) — Located directly east when positioned at the Crosby Street entrance. Includes a 64” presentation monitor that is compatible with AirPlay. To connect via AirPlay, select either “Apartment Lounge” or “Carmen McRae.”
- Music — This is the only conference room with Sonos speaker capabilities and runs on its own independent speaker group. You can pause or adjust music in this room without affecting the rest of the office. Please review the “SOUND” section of the Field Guide to confirm the room is on its own individual “line/grouping” before making adjustments.
- George Gershwin Conference Room — Located directly west of the kitchen. Includes a 64” presentation monitor that is compatible with AirPlay and HDMI-to-USB-C connection via the cable located on the table. To connect via AirPlay, your laptop must be connected to the same network as the TV (Automattic-Guest).
- Bud Powell Conference Room (Black Paint) — Located between the Nursing Room and the Zoom Rooms. Includes a 98” presentation monitor with a wireless connection box that acts as the TV’s HDMI port. To connect, plug your laptop into the HDMI-to-USB-C cable connected to the box. This room does not have AirPlay capabilities at the moment.
Each conference room is equipped with a Meeting Owl, a 360-degree video conferencing camera that automatically detects and focuses on the active speaker to create a more natural meeting experience.
- Connect your device using the Thunderbolt cable provided in the room.
- Once your meeting has started, open your camera settings (where you turn your camera on/off) and select Meeting Owl as your video source.
- You can also select Meeting Owl as your audio source to use the built-in microphone and speaker.
For hybrid meetings, the Meeting Owl acts as an additional participant on the call — the camera provides remote attendees with a full view of the room and helps them feel connected to what is happening in the physical space.
